"Shortly after I opened my Twitter account, I was confused as to what the purpose of it is and how it is different from blogging or the update status section on Facebook. Throughout the course, I began to realize that blogging is much different than Twitter. Twittering is different than blogging because Twitter allows its users to receive text messages about new friend requests and their friends’ tweets. You can also update your Twitter through the use of your cell phone. Blogging on the other hand, doesn’t do this. You can only update your Blog through the form on the website to create a post. Twitter is much simpler to use than blogs are. In addition, Twittering is much more social than blogging is, in that as soon as we sign onto Twitter, we can view our followers’ updates as well as ours, and it has RSS feed."
"I mainly used Twitter to update what I am doing or my current status. In this sense, I used Twitter in a similar way that I use my status update on Facebook. I also use it to talk about any exciting current news going on in Bloomington, to express my feelings, to see what other classmates had to say, and to see if Professor Bakioglu had added any interesting links or changed the class Wiki or course schedule. I didn’t find Twitter useful when I changed my status because I didn’t get anything out of doing this and I am sure no one else cared about what I was currently doing. However, I did find Twitter useful for keeping up to date with our class."
"Twitter did not enhance my interaction much with my peers. Twitter let me see what other people in the class were up to, how other people felt about certain things about the class, and helped me keep up to date on current news that people posted on Twitter. However, I did not interact much with people through Twitter, unless I asked a question or responded to someone’s question."
