Tweet backs 16

"I used Twitter for many reasons. I saw it as a mini chat room or chat program, such as AIM or iChat. First and foremost, I used it as a way to stay in contact with classmates and the professor. If I had missed class one day and I had a question what I missed or the assignments for next class, all I had to do was log in and either type my own question or browse through the “wall” to see if my question had already been answered. My questions were always answered, usually pretty quickly. Second, I would look through the posts to see if anyone had posted anything interesting or relevant to the class, such as news articles or videos. I found other’s post very useful in understanding the class topics better. Finally, I used it for its main purpose, to let others know what I was doing. I would update my status a couple of times daily and I would also browse through the posts to see what others were doing, just out of curiosity. As stated earlier, I found the tool to be very useful throughout the semester. I was able to stay informed about the class, reading and blogging assignments, and about when new information was posted on the Wiki. I feel that I was also able to get to know the people in the class through what they posted. I was able to figure out if someone was in a fraternity or sorority, what kind of sports people liked, what people liked to do for fun and on the weekends, what kind of movies and television shows people watched, and what interests they had. I felt pretty close to the class just through using Twitter."
